Credit: Carl SchultzLongtime E Street Band member Nils Lofgren has announced dates for a new U.S. solo tour, which will take place in the late spring. The trek is plotted out from a May 10 concert in Minneapolis through a June 2 show in Dallas.

In a note on his official website, Lofgren reports that the trek will be his first solo outing to feature a full backing band in more than 15 years. Nils’ group will include his brother Tom on guitars, keyboards and backing vocals; drummer Andy Newmark; bassist Kevin McCormick; and backing singer Cindy Mizelle, who has toured with the E Street Band, as well as with Bruce Springsteen‘s Seeger Sessions Band.

Lofgren also reveals that his upcoming solo album will be released before the start of the trek, and he’ll be showcasing songs from the record at his shows, along with highlights from his 50-year music career.

The tour will include multiple-night stands at City Winery clubs in Chicago, New York City, Nashville and Atlanta. Tickets for most of the shows will go on sale this Friday, March 1. Visit NilsLofgren.com for more details.

Also in the message, Nils shares that he enjoyed playing again as a member of Neil Young‘s side band Crazy Horse at a pair of shows in Winnipeg, Canada, earlier this month.

Lofgren originally played with Crazy Horse in the early 1970s, then rejoined the group last year in place of longtime guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampedro.
