Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, IncThe legal battle between Nirvana and designer Marc Jacobs doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Nirvana LLC — made up of former band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, plus Kurt Cobain‘s widow Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain — have filed to dismiss Jacobs’ recent countersuit against them.

If you’re not up to speed on the latest in this ongoing saga, Nirvana LLC first sued Marc Jacobs in December 2018 over items in the fashion label’s Bootleg Redux Grunge collection, which the band felt copied their signature smiley-face logo.

In March of this year, Jacobs filed a request to dismiss the initial lawsuit. After a judge allowed the case to continue in November, Jacobs then countersued Nirvana LLC.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Grohl and Novoselic have been deposed, and both of them testified that they didn’t know who created the logo. Of course, since Cobain is no longer here to give his side of the story, Jacobs is attempting to use that as a reason to dismiss the case.
