Fin Costello/Redferns

Fin Costello/RedfernsMay the 4th is Star Wars Day, but today, May 8th is Motörhead Day, and there are several ways that you can celebrate the legendary British heavy metal band.

First, an explanation.  The reason today is Motörhead Day is because when you say “The 8th of May,” it kinda sounds like you’re saying “The Ace of Spades” — which, of course, is a lyric from one of the band’s signature songs.  In fact, a new lyric video for “Ace of Spades” has just premiered.

In addition, there’s a new Facebook and Instagram filter that allows you to turn your face into Snaggletooth, the “war pig” that serves as Motörhead’s logo.

Plus, a new “We Are the Road Crew” shirt and matching logo face mask are now on sale at the band’s official online store.  A portion of the proceeds will go to Live Nation’s Crew Nation Fund, which is providing financial support to touring personnel who are out of a job due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And be sure to raise a toast to Motörhead tonight: Take a photo of yourself with your favorite beverage and post it online using the hashtag #8thofmay.
