ABCDave Grohl is getting into the Hanukkah spirit with a new song series, The Hanukkah Sessions.

In collaboration with producer Greg Kurstin, the Foo Fighters frontman will be releasing covers of songs by eight Jewish artists over the eight nights of Hanukkah, which begins Thursday at sundown.

In a tweet channeling his best use of Yiddish, Grohl says, “With all the mishegas of 2020, @GregKurstin & I were kibbitzing about how we could make Hanukkah extra-special this year.”

“Festival of Lights?! How about a festival of tasty LICKS!” he adds. “So hold on to your tuchuses…we’ve got something special coming for your shayna punims.”

Foo Fighters, meanwhile, are gearing up to release their new album Medicine at Midnight, which was produced by Kurstin. The record is due out February 5, 2021.

Kurstin also produced the last Foo Fighters album, 2017’s Concrete and Gold.
