A Lenawee County man has filed a campaign finance complaint against a group looking to repeal Michigan’s new clean energy law.

“Our Home, Our Voice” is being accused of collecting $53,000 in secret donations, looking to advance a ballot initiative to strike down the law.

Attorney Mark Brewer, who represents John Tuckerman of Blissfield, says the initiative threatens his right to use his property for clean energy.

“There are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of landowners throughout Michigan, farmers and others, who have the right and want to exercise the right to have renewable energy projects on their property,” brewer said.

Our Home, Our Voice is looking to overturn a law that gives the Michigan Public Service Commission the final say on approval of clean energy projects. They say the law takes decisions out of local hands, while those in favor say it’s helping the state each clean energy goals.
