Silver Beach is getting some extra attention.

Speaking to the Berrien County Board of Commissioners this week, Parks Director Jill Adams said her staff was recently contacted by USA Today, which is conducting a poll.

“Silver Beach County Park was nominated for the 10 Best Readers Choice Awards for Best Beach in Michigan,” Adams said.

Everyone can vote up to once per day for their favorite. Adams said Silver Beach is doing pretty well so far.

“Right now, we’re third on the leaderboard and after four weeks of voting, the contest will close and then a week later they’ll let us know how things went.”

USA Today travel experts selected the beaches and are leaving the final top ten ranking up to the public. Voting continues through May 20, and you can vote right here.

As of Thursday afternoon, Silver Beach was still in third place, behind Stearns Park Beach in Ludington and First Street Beach in Manistee. Warren Dunes State Park was at number six, while Tiscornia Beach Park was at number nine, and South Beach in South Haven was polling tenth.
