Roads in an around Campus Martius and Hart Plaza are expected to remain closed for another week while crews take the Draft Theater and other temporary buildings down.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer talked about the benefits of a successful draft.

When we host events like this, we get people from all around the world who maybe it’s their first time to Detroit,” Whitmer said. “Maybe they’re from Port Huron and they haven’t been down to the D in a while. But coming in and seeing what’s happening, it’s undeniable that this city has made massive strides. It’s a happening place. There’s something for everyone.”

More than 700,000 fans attended the three day event. That’s a record.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan says he’s been talking with the NBA in hopes of bringing an All-Star game to the city in the future.
