Police have located a body in the St. Joseph River.

The St. Joseph Township Police Department Department and partner agencies began the search on Friday near the Napier Avenue bridge after a report of a juvenile male jumping off the bridge. He’d been reported missing on Thursday.

The 15-year-old’s family began posting on social media Friday asking for help.

The search continued all weekend, and the sheriff’s department says a body was found Monday afternoon. It is now being sent to Western Michigan University for positive identification.

Agencies assisting the St. Joseph Township Police Department and Benton Township Police Department were the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Corewell Health Security, and the Great Lakes Drone company.

The incident is still under investigation.
