A new kayak launch has been unveiled in South Haven.

The South Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau and the South Haven Area Recreation Authority celebrated its installation this month.

The Phoenix Kayak Launch is located at 69237 County Road 388 and is free to use and ADA-accessible. Kayak rentals and transportation services are also available upon request.

The launch is located on property donated to the South Haven Area Recreation Authority by the visitors bureau in 2017, and the project was partly funded by a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

South Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jennifer Sistrunk says supporters of the launch are excited for both visitors and locals to enjoy paddling down the Black River this summer with yet another access point.
