Cheap Trick frontman Robin Zander is among the artists performing at the third annual Allman Family Revival tribute to Gregg Allman, which this year has been expanded from a single concert in San Francisco to a three-show event held in different cities.

This year’s Allman Family Revival concerts will take place December 7 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, December 8 at Mission Ballroom in Denver, and December 28 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The shows begin with a set by The Allman Betts Band, the new group featuring Gregg’s son Devon, Dickey Betts‘ son Duane, and the late Berry Oakley‘s son, Berry Duane Oakley.

Various guests will then be invited on stage to perform both a song they’re known for, and a tune from Gregg’s solo or the Allman Brothers Band catalog.

Zander will appear at all three events, while other artists taking part in one or more of the shows include Todd Park Mohr of Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Robert Randolph, Wet Willie frontman Jimmy Hall, and former Conan O’Brien house band guitarist Jimmy Vivino.

Some of the proceeds raised by the Allman Family Revival shows will go toward School of Rock to help fund after-school music programs.  Tickets for all three concerts will go on sale to the general public this Friday, September 13.

The first Allman Family Revival was held at The Fillmore in December 2017, and celebrated what would have been Gregg Allman’s 70 birthday; Gregg died in May of that year.

Zander currently is touring with Cheap Trick as the opening act on the North American leg of ZZ Top‘s 50th anniversary tour. Visit CheapTrick.com to see all the dates.
