Is it taking too long to get your mail? Michigan Senator Gary Peters thinks so.

Peters held a hearing this week trying to get to the bottom of what he calls “mounting concerns” about timely mail delivery.

Peters says the Postal Service provides vital services to everyone in Michigan, especially rural communities.

“The Postal Service offers a critical public service,” Peters said. “Postal workers deliver every day to keep our communities connected. As the only carrier that reaches every address in the nation, the Postal Service ensures that Americans everywhere can stay in touch, receive goods, and more no matter where they live.”

Peters says the hearing was centered on staffing shortages, route changes, and branch closures.
